Vertiv is looking for a Project Manager to join the team in Sines, Portugal.
About the role:
As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring projects are executed according to contractual obligations and technical requirements, delivered on time and within quality standards, while achieving expected profitability.
You will act as the main interface between the customer and Vertiv, proactively managing project performance.
What you will do:
- Translate customer needs and requirements into detailed project plans;
- Share project plans with relevant company functions and drive internal execution to meet targets;
- Identify potential issues during the project lifecycle and coordinate with other departments to resolve them;
- Oversee project purchasing with the Purchasing Manager;
- Ensure adherence to budget and implement cost reduction and containment actions;
- Coordinate deliveries with clients and purchasing to avoid excess inventory;
- Manage local subcontractors for installations and the service team for on-time start-ups;
- Ensure timely, accurate and complete maintenance of project reports and documentation packages;
- Maintain documentation including drawings, specifications, customer requirements, meeting minutes, certificates and proof of delivery;
- Provide accurate revenue and margin forecasts;
- Maintain regular communication with departmental staff and functions;
- Raise invoice requests to ensure timely billing.
What will make you successful:
- Degree-level education in Electrical, Electronic or Mechanical Engineering;
- Experience running and controlling high-value M&E contracts;
- Fluency in English and Spanish, mandatory;
- Good knowledge of Liebert HPAC and UPS products and solutions;
- Experience negotiating with and managing subcontractors;
- Strong numerical and IT skills;
- Strong understanding of business performance software;
- Essential knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project and Oracle;
- Knowledge of AutoCAD, preferable;
- Ability to understand commercial contracts;
- Strong knowledge of contract agreements and contract law;
- Strong attention to detail;
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously;
- Ability to work under pressure and meet agreed timescales;
- Customer-centric mindset and ability to handle complex customer requirements effectively;
- Team player with strong communication and influencing skills across functions.
Physical and environmental demands:
