Job Purpose

In close cooperation with the Sales organizations and the Brand Activation team and with functional guidance of Pan-European Product Marketing, the Senior Marketing Manager (Portugal) is responsible for co-developing and implementing, within Iberia guidelines, a successful sales and marketing strategy for the Sony product groups in Portugal.

In addition to core responsibilities in category, the Senior Marketing Manager (Portugal) is responsible for fostering Outstanding User Experiences through collaboration with other product categories and support the prioritization of resources that deliver best propositions for our customers and best overall results for Sony Europe

The Senior Marketing Manager (Portugal) is a key interface for Portugal Sales team and Iberia Consumer Marketing team.

Key Responsibilities & Scope for Decision Making

  • Implement the pricing strategy for the territory
  • Manage the allocated Marketing CI expenditure in the assigned categories
  • Developing and maintaining commercial relationships with strategic partners (e.g. key retailers)
  • Ensure budget is allocated correctly corresponding to European guidelines
  • Create and coordinate a local marketing strategy to maximize both sell through and demand creation
  • Set up local annual marketing plan and monthly reporting on the evolution monthly to senior management
  • Responsible for monthly units forecasting and PSI meetings for LCD and MDR PT
  • Responsible for forecasting and implementation of pricing conditions and commercial investment (Sell-Out
  • Allowances / Stock Comp) in coordinator with local management and PPM guidelines
  • Develop and agree with sales on channel strategy, distribution partners and ranging by cluster within the business partners.
  • Responsible for the in-store and online retail presence, liaising with brand activation teams to ensure its categories presence in retailers are best in class
  • Responsible for product launch in the country
  • Guide, inform and motivate sales teams, on the product USP’s and strategy
  • Responsible for monthly reporting as appropriate

Qualifications & Experience

  • University degree
  • Experience in Marketing or Consumer Sales (min 6 years)
  • Knowledge of the Consumer Electronics Market & Industry is desirable
  • Commercially driven and self-motivated
  • Ambitious and with professional appearance
  • Fluent in Portuguese spoken & written
  • Excellent knowledge of English spoken & written
  • Spanish knowledge is valued but not mandatory

  • Achieve net sales and marginal profit targets
  • Manage marketing CI investment within budget level
  • Forecast accuracy in N to N+2 month horizon (Sell-In / Sell-out)
  • Speedy Ranging and Instore Stock Ratio
