For our portuguese factory “Bradco”, located in Castelo de Paiva (Aveiro), Brasport is searching for a results-driven and confident Financial Controller (M/F) 100 % to manage and improve our organization’s financial performance and direct our accounting operations.
As Financial Controller, your strategic planning and exceptional numerical proficiency will help our organization in maintaining positive revenue and financial growth, formulating sound financial strategies, implementing proper internal controls, achieving organizational targets, and developing financial plans that support organizational strategy.
The ideal candidate should possess strong analytical skills, exceptional problem-solving skills, a flair for numbers, be highly organized, and have excellent leadership skills. The noteworthy Financial Controller should streamline our accounting functions and operations, provide financial analysis and reports, train staff on business finance issues, promote regulatory compliance, and drive income generation, cash flow and cost position continuous improvement. The mission within the Group is to create contiguity with Group CEO / Group CFO and all Operating Peers and deliver visibility to Stakeholders and Group Management along with a robust information package.
The Financial Controller will report directly to our Group CFO based in our Swiss HQ
Preparing flash reporting (sales, EBIT, Cash Flow)
Monthly closing (balance Sheet, P&L, Cost of sales, Net Working Capital, etc)
Cash flow monitoring (weekly Cash Flow)
Plant monitoring (production output, Direct Labor efficiency, Capacity Planning, etc)
Overheads (G&A, S&M, R&D – cost centers reporting actual vs. Budget)
Capex / Project Controlling (business case preparation with payback, capex reporting, etc)
Budget / Long Term Planning (budget package for approval, sales and gross margin, etc)
Special Projects (acquisitions, Development capex, New Plant/Company – Assist CFO / CEO in Business Case preparation)
Internal Control Systems (draft internal control procedures in coordination with CFO, Limits of Authority Implementation “LoA”, Maintenance and review of LoA and Internal control)
ERP Implementation / Development (assist CFO / IT in implementation – upgrade of ERP modules, digitalization of accounting activities)
Direct and Indirect Taxes (assist Tax consultants in direct / indirect tax returns, income tax planning and optimization)
Skills and Qualifications
Bachelor Degree in Accounting or equivalent (Master’s Degree being a plus)
Proven experience in finance management (at least 3 years). Background in auditing being an advantage)
Solid knowledge of Portuguese Taxation (Direct and Indirect) and Government Incentives system and programs
Proficiency in accounting software
Good communication skills
Excellent interpersonal skills
IT, numerical and analytical skills
Attention to detail to ensure high levels of quality
Results-driven approach to work / ability to work under pressure
Leadership skills and the ability to motivate others to meet deadlines
Ability to work in a logical, systematic manner
Fluent in Portuguese and English
Experience in project management, ie implementation of an ERP/MRP, is a plus
