A global emerging market public policy and communications specialist consultancy is looking for a Finance Assistant/ Administrator based in Lisbon, Portugal to join its small teams of financial professionals.
The Lisbon office serves the global consultancy with centralized finance and administration as well as providing back office support. Whilst the team is based in Lisbon the work is not locally orientated; the office provides services internationally.
Reporting to the Finance Manager of the company, the Finance Assistant/ Administrator is responsible for the daily administration of various international (non-Portuguese) entities. The key tasks and responsibilities in relation to the clients are issuing sales and disbursement invoices, maintenance of sales daybook, preparation of debtors list and assisting with debt collection. This position is also covering account payable tasks like managing supplier invoices from registration to final payment, maintaining supplier daybook, initiating payments, liaising with banks, downloading and filing statements, entering payments into the internet bank.
This position is covering reconciliations of employee expense reports, liaising with partner companies from all over the world, preparing basic financial reports, handling petty cash and cash books and preparing month-end financial information to be sent out to external and internal accountants for bookkeeping purposes on a timely basis. This role would suit someone coming from an international SME sector who can work across multiple currencies, multiple countries and is a good communicator and can handle and organize huge number of emails and interpret information quickly and neatly while attention to details is a must.
Fluency in English is required for this role, with other languages a bonus – as is experience of working in an Anglo-Saxon international environment. The nature of the role requires someone who has got a college or university degree, has got a minimum of 5 years experience in an administrative role, able to work across multiple markets, a superb time manager, can multitask and who is able to deal with ad–hoc matterstimely. Prioritizing is a must in this position. The successful candidate will be working in a highly demanding and high-pressure environment where flexibility is required.
