Technical Trainer and Application Consultant – ACS International

ACS International is currently seeking a Technical Trainer based in Europe.

Position Summary

We are a motivated, multi-national trainer team of qualified scientists and IP experts. Joining this trainer team in the role of a Customer Success Specialist (technical trainer), you are responsible for providing pre- and post-sale technical trainings and product consulting to users of CAS’ scientific information solutions such as SciFinder and STN in the EMEA region and worldwide. You are accountable for preparing and presenting instructional materials in various media for technical training events for user meetings, technical conferences, on-site customer visits and customer meetings via teleconference.

Responsibilities

Provide technical product demonstrations and training for customers and internal staff
Develop and design customized training materials to meet customer needs and highlight product features by explaining and demonstrating search techniques using tailored examples
Create and deliver technical instructions and demonstrations for pre- and post-sale support, workshops, user meetings, technical conferences, and remote or in-person customer meetings
Evaluate customer information needs and match them to appropriate products and services in close collaboration with sales
Gather customer feedback on products, services, or policies and communicate this information to internal partners such as product development and sales

Skills / Qualifications

Full fluency in French and very good fluency in English
Foundational understanding of chemistry with a bachelor’s degree in a natural science; advanced degree preferred
Strong presentation skills and ability to communicate and answer questions about product content and relevant scientific information
3 or more years of related technical sales, product training, customer service, or technical and scientific teaching experience, including post-doc positions
Willingness to travel mainly in France
Experience supporting science-related solutions with a strong capacity to articulate application-specific value propositions to address user pain points
Preferred: experience with scientific information solutions such as SciFinder and STN; experience in working with patent information; experience with the drug discovery process
