Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist, Mangrove Rice Production in Guinea-Bissau

Working in development cooperation for more than 30 years, the Association of Development Aid from People to People (ADPP) Guinea-Bissau has a proven track record in implementing carefully planned and organized projects that reach a large number of beneficiaries. ADPP is leading a consortium that is submitting a proposal for a 5-year, EU funded agriculture and energy program (Pro-GB) that focuses on rice production in several mangrove regions in Guinea-Bissau. ADPP is looking for an M&E Specialist with prior experience in the design and implementation of monitoring systems, preparing reports for committees and donors, and training others in the monitoring and evaluation system. This position is based in Guinea-Bissau and offers a competitive salary with benefits.

Main role and responsibilities

  • Design and maintenance of the monitoring system associated with the contract in question, feeding of the global monitoring system of the PRO-GB;
  • Training and advising technicians to feed the monitoring system from information collected on the ground;
  • Preparation of progress reports and briefing notes for committees;
  • Elaboration and dissemination of material and technical articles.

Required experience and skills

  • Higher education in relevant areas (statistics, social sciences, etc.);
  • Professional experience of at least 5 years in the design and implementation of monitoring systems in development projects;
  • Proven ability to provide technical training assistance;
  • Fluency in Portuguese and knowledge of French and / or English.

Preferred experience and skills

  • Knowledge of Guinea-Bissau’s (rural and institutional) context is an advantage;
  • Knowledge of Creole is an advantage.
