The Forest Company is a closed-ended investment company, combining long-term capital appreciation, income yield, and significant social impact. The Company focuses on forest plantations in areas with high biological growth rates, such as Brazil and Colombia. The Forest Company’s shareholders consist of institutional investors, family offices, and management. Thus far, the Company has committed capital to six projects which include both greenfield and standing plantations located in Brazil and Colombia. Since 2010, the Company has paid out USD 52 million in dividends to its shareholders.

We seek to invest in forestry projects that are or will be certified by a reputable forest management certification scheme. We do not acquire native forest for harvesting.

Responsibilities

  • Analyse new business opportunities, industries and transactions
  • Evaluate transactions in detail and form part of deal team
  • Guide interns and graduates
  • Pro-actively identify and research ways in which to grow and improve the company
  • Improve company’s presentations
  • Assist with fund-raising for Real Holding group companies and assets

Strategy

Identify growth routes and prospect investments and divestments opportunities through the development of strategic and business plans and also projects pipeline, aiming to support management team on strategy definition and optimization of efforts to guarantee company growth

Business Development

Perform feasibility studies and acquisition process by development of business case, valuation models, investments memorandum, acquisition plan, due diligence report and integration plan, in order to assure the accomplishment of all steps to acquire a business and enlarge the company’s portfolio

Management support

Support top management and all business units with financial, market and strategy analysis, presentations and recommendations with the objective to enable a faster and assertive decision making process

Support management in all fund-raising activities

Teaching

Teach colleagues financial modelling presentation making, industry research, corporate standards and values

Experiance

  • Masters Degree
  • Investment banking experience

Background

  • Knowledge on business valuations and analysis

  • Experience with strategic planning process
  • Fluency in English / Spanish & Portuguese desirable
