Leading media relations’ consultancy and press release distribution service APO Group ( and seeks to hire an Accounts receivable specialist who will report to the Chief Financial Officer.

This position takes responsibility for the collection of invoice process and uses analytical and investigative tools to manage an assigned customer base. Developing and maintaining a positive relationship with the client’s customers is essential to ensuring that cash collection activities meet requirements. Measurements of success are reducing aged debt, maximising collection and resolve possible conflictual situations. You will also be responsible for routine telephone calls to customer accounts, and resolving problems that delay collections, including timely and effective communication with other departments. You will also support the CFO in general accounting, cash-flow management and other administrative tasks.

This job is home-based (meaning you can work from anywhere as long as you are present at required business hours).

Main responsibilities

  • Contact customers to ensure timely payment of all invoices, being pro-active to ensure an overdue situation does not occur.
  • Develop and maintain professional relationship with customers.
  • Ensure that the collections processes followed are in adherence with internal procedures.
  • Produce weekly statements for the CFO.
  • Meet monthly collections targets.
  • Escalate to management dispute information to a high degree of quality as required in accordance with escalation policy.
  • Record all collections activities in a consistent manner.
  • Maintain tools for cash-flow management.

Required Skills and experience

  • Proven track record in account receivables in an international environment
  • Strong interpersonal /business skills both oral and written with very good telephone skills
  • Background in accounting / cash-flow management would be a plus
  • Fluent English, French would be a plus
  • Good organisational & time management skills
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Analytical approach / good problem-solving skills
  • Excellent reporting skills
  • Competent in Microsoft Office
  • Ability to establish and maintain key relationships.
