JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Develop and maintain standard accounting and administrative procedures.
  • Manage financial, accounting and administrative activities to achieve company goals.
  • Manage and oversee daily operations of accounting department.
  • Oversee preparation of financial records related to general ledger, payroll, budget, expense, etc.
  • Monitor and analyze accounting data; produce periodical financial management reports or statements; supervise accounting department to ensure all reporting deadlines are met.
  • Avoid legal challenges by understanding country legislation; establish and enforces proper accounting regulations, methods and principles.
  • Enhance workflow of the department; recommend new procedures; develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Ensure and assist the daily banking requirements, treasury, account receivables and similar transactions.
  • Coordinate and ensure a clean and timely year-end audit process with Auditors.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree preferably in Finance/Economics/Accounting.
  • 5+ years of experience in relevant positions. Having had experience in one of the Big4 in tax or audit division is a plus.
  • Excellent knowledge in accounting principles and local accounting standards, being a licensed TOC (Técnico Oficial de Contas) accountant is a must.
  • Ability to delegate and coordinate activities effectively to lead finance, administration, HR functions.
  • Strong organizational skills and high level of detail orientation with the ability to prioritize to meet deadlines and requirements.
  • Excellent reporting and presentation skills.
  • Excellent communication and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of Portuguese tax legislation.
  • Excellent command of both written and spoken Portuguese and English.
  • Position is located in Lisbon, Portugal.
