Hitachi Consulting is the Consulting, IT and Solutions services business of Hitachi Ltd. We work with clients across the world from all industry sectors to design, build and operate technology solutions. We have particular strengths in the domains of ‘Digital’, ‘Internet of Things’, ‘Analytics’ and ERP and provide a range of supporting services (industry expertise, project management, process design, change management) required to achieve success. Frequently, we will leverage our relationship with the rest of Hitachi to bring innovative products and services into our solutions for clients. We will also work with clients to define outcome based measures as part of our role in helping clients implement change and achieve benefits.

Opportunity

Hitachi Consulting has a centralised Talent Acquisition function based in the UK and Portugal working as part of a wider HR team providing services to a business unit of circa 700 people covering Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). The Recruitment team at HC EMEA is responsible for bringing permanent and contract employees into the business through a variety of channels, predominantly via direct sourcing.

With plans for significant growth in the coming months we are seeking to recruit an experienced Recruiter to join the Talent Acquisition team, based in Lisbon.

The successful candidate will assist in the delivery of a recruitment service which maintains a strong pipeline of candidates against business requirements and acts as an ambassador for Hitachi Consulting.

Our recruiters are given the freedom to source and engage with candidates by developing deep knowledge of the markets in which they operate and are provided with the tools required to reach the talent we need; including job boards, an active employee referral program and full corporate access to LinkedIn.

Responsibilities

Successful candidates will recognise that their core skill is the delivery of exceptional levels of service to both candidates and clients within a professional Human Resources environment.

The principal areas of responsibility are to:

  • Source and search for candidates to drive into the recruitment pipeline, primarily for requirements in the UK and Portugal including delivering an exceptional experience to candidates to promote HC as an employer of choice
  • Conduct telephone screening calls with candidates to qualify candidate’s credibility and suitability for employment;
  • Act as the recruitment point of contact for designated Hiring Managers; partnering with them to develop strong working relationships
  • Maintain a pipeline of candidates against agreed requirements – these should primarily be sourced directly;
  • Educate and enthuse candidates about opportunities with Hitachi Consulting;
  • Manage the entire recruiting lifecycle including organising and facilitating successful recruiting events and interviews;
  • Own requirements from inception through to completion – driving recruitment activity forward;
  • Promoting and expanding the employee referral program;
  • Manage external relationships with suppliers (recruitment agencies, job boards, press etc);
  • Maintain data integrity in the applicant tracking system (Taleo);
  • Report progress against agreed KPI’s

We hire professionals, passionate about driving high quality services into a business. Suitable candidates are likely to be drawn from a recruitment consultancy or professional HR background and must be comfortable working in a delivery orientated environment.

The skills we look for include:

  • A successful track record in the delivery of recruitment services gained in an agency or corporate environment
  • A background of working internationally with a corresponding understanding of how candidate markets operate
  • Experience of recruiting for technology positions which may include:
    • Software Engineering
    • BI & Analytics
    • ERP
  • Experience of utilising a range of sourcing techniques to engage active and passive candidates
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communications skills including an excellent telephone manner including fluency in English;
  • Good planning, time management, decision making, presentation and organisation skills
  • A motivation to achieve results and a record of achieving or exceeding KPIs
  • An ability to understand and interpret a wide variety of people in a professional manner and present the Hitachi Consulting candidate proposition to them appropriately.
  • Degree level education (or equivalent) preferred
