WANTED: ACCOUNT MANAGER, located in Porto and with responsibility on sales for the North region in Portugal.

An Account Manager in Medline is responsible for driving sales and services to new or existing customers through face-to-face contact to meet individual and organizational sales objectives. He/she is responsible for attending customers (purchasers and end-users), prospecting and building relationships that will increase account penetration, revenue growth and customer satisfaction within specific product lines, business segments and geography.

The person operating as an Account Manager in Medline Portugal will have the following aims:

  • Meets and exceeds projected sales goals
  • Collects necessary information and assists market surveys and other analysis of pre-sale potential solutions and post-sale implemented solutions. Demonstrates working knowledge and skills in the Solutions Sales Process by supporting efforts to craft value-added customer solutions; maintains information to track and report the value of various offerings across customers
  • Gains familiarity around the contracting administration process (Specifically Bid department) and may perform pricing negotiations and begins to build external relationships/networks with customers
  • Knows internal resources (who to go to for what / Marketing, Bid department, Customer Service, finance) and builds internal networks throughout Medline to assist with customer needs as appropriate
  • Supports and/or assists in executing on simplistic/transactional deals; may secure deals by helping outline defined benefits; collaborates with direct/indirect decision makers/influencers

Requirements to apply:

  • Degree in Bioscience or Clinical background. Master degree (MBA an advantage)
  • Knowledge of Microsoft software, e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • 3+ years Medical sales experience preferred. Proven knowledge of the Hospital environment and key leaders
  • Must be comfortable selling in the hospital market (surgical field)
  • Superior negotiating skills and experience in problem solving
  • Willing to make decisions after appropriate analysis
  • Experience in working independently with little direct supervision
  • Portuguese and English mandatory, another European language is an asset
  • Strong commitment and involvement and travel (Up to 60% ) required to succeed
  • Valid Driving licence
