Account Manager Microbiology – Portugal

What will you do?

By joining the Microbiology Division (MBD), which is part of the Thermo Fisher Diagnostic Group of Thermo Fisher Scientific, you will report to the Country Sales Lead, Iberia, Microbiology Europe.

Within our team you will be responsible for selling Microbiology products and Instrumentation to all accounts within the Portuguese region.

In specific you will work with customers and provide unique solutions that enable breakthrough discoveries, solve complex scientific challenges or meet routine testing needs. You’ll have responsibility to drive revenue growth and overall customer satisfaction within one or across a variety of markets like academic, pharmaceutical/biopharma, food safety, environmental and clinical.

What will be your key duties and responsibilities?

  • The Account Manager is responsible for the acquisition of new customers within the assigned region according to sales targets. In specific you will be responsible to:
  • Ensure the profitability of the accounts managed
  • Build and maintaining customer relationships to develop new Business opportunities
  • Deliver consistent Sales within the Microbiology market
  • Contribute to the improvement of the customer satisfaction and relationship
  • Provide high-level technical sales support to our key customer
  • Work closely with the sales & Marketing to ensure accurate and timely billing of time and expenses through the use of courses and all support tools, procedures and guidelines

How will you get here?

  • Professional background in Chemistry, Biology, Pharmacy or related subjects.
  • Minimum 2-3 year technical sales experience in the Life Science/Biotech industry.
  • Customer/Sales focused
  • Have a strong business knowledge and commercial acumen with a clear ability to build turn key benefit driven solutions for your customers
  • Absolutely fluent in English, Portuguese and Spanish
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to liaise with and work across all company levels, functions and regions
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks with different priorities
  • Strong inter-personal, self-motivational and negotiating skills
  • Excellent Presentation skills
  • Driving License
  • Flexibility to travel up to 50% of your working time over a one-year period
