General Purpose

The Robotics Process Automation Process Architect leads the high level assessment of processes for automation using robotics. The Process Architect partners with an RPA Tech Architect to create the following:

  • RPA High Level Assessment
  • RPA Solution Design, including creating relevant documentation
  • Define a quantifiable Business Case
  • Partner with the Tech Architect to create an implementation plan for the RPA Solution Designed (SDD)

Main Responsibility Area

The process architect works with the client’s process subject matter experts, the RPA technical architect to detail the user actions/steps in a process to be configured into the RPA tool (Robot) (with or without reengineering). This detail (SDD) serves as a tangible input for the development team to configure the Robot and implement the automated flow for the client. The process architect could also be assigned to validate the configured automation during User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure it meets the solution designed from a business view and is delivering forecasted benefits.

Please note that full formal RPA training will be provided at the start of job.

1) Conduct RPA High Level Assessments:

  • Identify processes that are feasible for automation with recommendations for benefits savings
  • Define complexity of the process in terms of RPA Delivery
  • Recommendations to alter or reengineer process to automate or improve automation potential

2) Create a Business View RPA Solution Design. This involves the detailing of the As-Is procedural steps done by the users and the design of the To-Be automated flow when configured into RPA:

Analyze & observe processes to understand the process steps and applications used to complete business transactions by a user

Complete the standard templates for PDD and SDDs to ensure that all business scenarios are in scope to be configured into RPA

The examples are as below:

  • Detail Process steps, navigation, applications details (type, application elements used etc.)
  • Study process information:
  • Standard operation procedures,
  • Process maps
  • Volumetrics – trending, seasonality, cyclicality
  • Service levels set up (error rate, error volumes
  • Exception handling steps
  • Capacity utilization: FTE, productivity metrics, average handling time
  • Process interdependencies
  • Financial or regulatory/compliance considerations
  • Detail understanding of the inputs to the process – structured vs unstructured layouts, different formats

3) Create the To-Be automated flow (future state) to automate the process:

Detail Robot Automation logic from the start of the process to completion of the business transaction:

  • Design automation flow to be unattended
  • Conversion of unstructured inputs to structured, if required
  • Clearly detail each step of business logic to be configured into the robot
  • Create alternate flows, nested validations/verifications to detail the various paths a transaction can traverse through the automation flow being designed.
  • Detail the completion of a transaction as required by the process (outputs of the process)
  • Detail the logic, scenarios that will follow the exceptional handling process in the solution design of the automated flow

4) Leads sign off from the process stakeholders on PDD & SDD

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree with Work Experience – min 8-10 years
  • Kind of experience: Business Analysis, Process improvement or a full time Six Sigma role in a fortune 500 organization
  • Proven multi domain and process expertise across global markets
  • Benefits calculations (transaction Time improvement specifically) and ROI through a capacity creation or FTE take-out
  • Clearly developed process improvement skill/continuous improvement
  • Process orientation
  • Proven experience in innovativeness
  • Excellent creativity in process design/redesign
  • Ability to merge technology & process
  • Strong stakeholder management skills including influencing skills
  • Excellent communication skill – oral, written, presenting, creation of report outs etc.

The job grade is indicative. It may be higher or lower subject to company harmonization of Nokia leveling structure.

Depending on experience/ seniority or juniority position may also be determined on higher/ lower job grade.
