POSITION PURPOSE

  • Achieve agreed targets as outlined in the sales and marketing plan for year 2017 for the Leisure segments and the niche sub-segments of Spa and wellness, golf and other sports i.e. football, tennis, hiking, biking, and water sports,
  • To execute the sale & marketing plan effectively and continue to drive sales under the guidance of the Director of Sales, the Asst DOS, Leisure and the Account Director, Leisure.
  • To be responsible for the tactical sales and marketing of all Sports and Wellness services products.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Under the guidance of the DOS, Asst DOS, Leisure and Account Director, Leisure pro-actively identify opportunities to promote and sell to Leisure, spa and sports related accounts in line with budget targets as defined in the sales & marketing plan.
  • Implement the Spa Market Plan, assisting in marketing promotions, generating leads and tracking enquiries.
  • Assist the Director of Sales in researching and developing the Sports and Wellness/Spa Marketing Plan.
  • Develop and build a pre opening marketing database to achieve the required targets in each sub-segment. Continue to maintain prospects database.
  • Conduct Spa and sports sales tours, monitor close of sales ratios.
  • Manage the sports and wellness database.
  • In liaison with the Hotel credit manager and Controller ensuring the payments are on time from all of his/her accounts.
  • Develop and maintain an accurate membership filing/tracking system ensuring that all data is maintained to a high standard of accuracy in cooperation with the Spa Director and Golf Director.
  • Ensure all communication both internally and externally is of a high standard and executed on a timely basis, reflecting the quality standards of the Spa, Sports and Hotel.

  • Proactively manage a pre-determined number of key accounts/key prospects and other active accounts to ensure maximum yield in line with budgetary objectives.
  • Maintain valid call objectives and relevant action plans for each key account/key prospect and ensure all follow up is executed in a timely manner. Update the Account Development Plans for his/her key accounts.
  • Proactively prospecting new accounts and markets for the Hotel and following the sales process through to convert into ‘producing’ accounts.
  • Executes and supports the operational aspects of business booked (e.g. generating proposal, writing contract, customer correspondence)
  • To help organize and participate in sales activities as appropriate, including tradeshows, road shows, joint sales calls and other events ensuring that the quality image of the organisation is portrayed, and that every opportunity is taken to promote the Hotel.
  • Detailed knowledge of competitor set and local spa and sports market
  • To take personal responsibility for understanding the Sales plan of the Hotel and the required budgetary guidelines, to enable empowered decisions in all rate negotiations, under the guidance of the DOS.
  • Under the direction (and working with) of the Director of Sales/Asst DOS Leisure/Account Director Leisure, to take responsibility for delivery of the strategy for FIT segment.
  • Ensuring accurate follow up and communication both internally to reservations and accounting departments, and confirmation to client.
  • Ensure property rates sheets are accurate at all times.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

  • In conjunction with the Director of Sales, Asst DOS Leisure and Account Director Leisure proactively grow the business by developing, implementing and monitoring all promotional activities.
  • Promote and sell the services of the Spa and Sports facilities and maximize the potential of all sales.
  • Assist Director of Sales in evaluating the Spa’s position in the market.
  • Develop and participate in events and lifestyle activities to promote the Spa and sports.
  • Be proactive in maintaining and developing own product knowledge on a continuous basis.
  • Develop exceptional rapport with all potential and existing clients and develop a good working relationship with colleagues within the Spa, Sports and Hotel.
  • Accomplish all tasks by the deadlines set and advise Director of Sales/Asst DOS/Account Director of any potential obstacles to achieving defined goals.
  • Maintain the appropriate attitude and physique to reflect and promote a positive image for the Spa, Sports and Hotel.
  • To undertake any reasonable request from the Director of Sales/Asst DOS/Account Director Leisure.
  • Communicating client requirements in a timely and accurate manner to all internal departments as required, ensuring delivery of superior guest service and set response time
  • Re-negotiation of FIT contracts agreements within budgetary guidelines of managed portfolio within agreed time frames for his/her assigned accounts or area of responsibility.
  • To take responsibility for the compilation and execution of quarterly FIT action plans as agreed with Director of Sales.
  • To arrange and manage familiarisation trips and educational in line with business needs
  • Participate in Sales strategies and take responsibility for agreed projects, such as direct Sales, production of sales collateral and advertising campaigns, in support of DOS

QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

Education

  • Bachelor degree required, additional education in sales and marketing fields preferred.
  • Good knowledge of Spa business, golf, sports´ related operations.
  • Computer literacy (Opera, Word, Excel) required
  • Superior analytical skills required
  • Travel Industry experience required
  • Excellent oral and written skills
  • Ability to work and communicate in a multinational environment
  • Friendly and flexible

Experience

At least 2 years of experience of a sales executive.
