The Product Manager works in collaboration with CVT members, integrates cross functional expertise to harmonize and localize the EMEA brand value plan and to make it work at local level, maximizing alignment to EMEA guidelines. He is the owner of the Local Brand Value Plan and as such will have expert knowledge of all aspects around the brand in country – local customer needs, local requirements, competitive environment, business imperatives. Using this knowledge the Product Manager will assure that key decisions around how to achieve commercial success for the brand in country are taken by the CVT and senior management

The Product Manager is responsible for the successful commercial implementation of the brand value plan at OpCo level by developing go-to-market and channel strategy. The Product Manager outlines and leads the customer strategy, customer value-added initiatives and stakeholder engagement plans. As local market expert, the Product Manager will be expected to contribute to the identification of unmet customer needs and future evolution of services and solutions that improve Health Outcomes, constantly using the knowledge of the Customer to provide input and guidance to the EMEA Commercial organization.

Major Responsibilities

  • Ensures that the Janssen Value Excellence Framework is adopted and utilized throughout the Product Life Cycle
  • Develops commercial tactics and messages plans to drive optimal launch and best brand positioning at local level, aligned with the EMEA brand strategy and product positioning
  • Is responsible for the development of brand campaigns and the implementation of core projects, as well as the organization of congresses/events
  • Leads the implementation of the segmentation, targeting, channel and marketing mix strategy at a local level, taking into consideration local market and customer needs
  • Leads the development and implementation of customer-specific, innovative and value-added initiatives to deliver customer needs
  • Develops a network of customer relationships and implements a stakeholder-specific engagement plan to deliver the brand value proposition locally and is able to conduct peer to peer conversation
  • Leverages own network of KOLs and key stakeholders to build and monitor company/ brand loyalty
    Is responsible for the brand budget
  • Conveys the EMEA brand vision at local level in order to shape a local brand value plan aligned to the EMEA brand value plan and strategic planning process, including local budget allocation and resourcing model management
  • Identifies and highlights to the IBVTL areas specific to the LOC/Cluster that may derail the EMEA Brand Value Plan (makes use of the functional network to do so)
  • Is responsible for monitoring the brand performance at local level and providing EMEA leadership with standard KPIs and metrics
  • Works in collaboration with the IBVTL/ CVTL and PM network and raises any issues from a local perspective
  • Collaborates within the CVTL / EPM network for sharing best practices in terms of processes, deliverables, approaches (where possible)


  • A minimum of a Higher Education degree is required. An advanced degree in business or life sciences is preferred
  • Proficiency in English – Verbal and Written Communication
  • The candidate has demonstrated a strategic mind-set, decision making ability and is able to synthesize and integrate input
  • Understanding of local market is required
  • An understanding of the entire product life cycle stages is required
  • Demonstrated commercial acumen
  • Proven track of trade off decision making based on analytical thought and risk management
  • Proven ability to lead and work with cross-functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to work closely with internal and external stakeholders is required, previous experience is preferred
  • Proven ability to influence and inspire without authority
  • Must have demonstrated entrepreneurial thinking
  • Experience in delivering and executing brand value strategies at local level is preferred
  • This position requires a minimum of local/ international travel
