For our client we are looking for experienced DIE DESIGN ENGINEER.

You will be:

  • Responsible to continuously work with product engineering, stamping, process engineering and tool shop employees when designing a progressive die.
  • Interface with all other disciplines, such as product, assembly, plating and manufacturing engineering to ensure that new or existing modified tooling is compatible with the process, and that the tool is achieving the lowest stamping cost and the highest quality.
  • Investigate and estimate the most cost effective die design for a given product.
  • Use correct material construction and available die standard designs by interfacing with the tool shop.
  • Take initiative – together with product design, stamping process, assembly process and QA Engineers – to do an FMEA analysis of the tool before it has been released for fabrication and build.
  • Have direct responsibility for recommending/establishing the min/max inventory levels for perishable tools for the die being designed.
  • Continual search for improvement of die design technology and state-of-the-art technology available, etc.
  • Ensures that dies contracted by a vendor are meeting dies design specifications, timing and cost.
  • Complies with ISO – 9001:2008 & ISO – 13485:2003 requirements.
  • Complies with safety rules, regulations and other policies within the company’s Policy Manual.
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned.

  • Master’s degree (M. A.) from an accredited college or university;
  • or four to ten years related experience and/or training;
  • or equivalent combination of education and experience.


  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.


  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry.
  • Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.


  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.


  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing,  Design, Project Management, Email and Internet software.


  • Excellent background in the design of progressively, non-corrosive metal (brass, phos bronze, beryllium copper, etc.) blanking and forming technology.
  • Must be very familiar with stamping presses, used to operating progressive dies with high speed technology.
  • Must have 2 to 3 years direct experience building and de-bugging progressive dies.
  • Must have knowledge of non-corrosive metal behavior during blanking and forming.
