Who Are we?

Uniplaces is the enabler of accommodation for students in western Europe (for now!)

We’re the first stage for a student who is moving – whether it’s inside borders, abroad in Erasmus. Before students book their flight or take care of subjects, they want to find their perfect little cosy home out of home and that’s where we come in. We search, find and present properties in a clear and transparent way so that it’s easy for students to find what they’re looking for. We then add stellar customer service and a great brand to make their experience unique!

Your role?

Joining us to help find the best talent in the world to join our teams and support sustainable growth for Uniplaces. We’re on a mission to change the way students experience their time abroad and to achieve this we need to find incredibly talented people to join us.

This is where you come in – your job will be to run sourcing and recruitment efforts from A to Z. This includes working with the various business teams to define job descriptions and responsibilities, determine sourcing strategies, interview candidates (via phone, skype and in person), collect feedback and understand candidate potential and send out and negotiate job offers.

While doing all of this, you are expected to have an efficiency mindset, always improving quality of the candidate experience and streamlining internal processes, including reporting of all your work.

It’s not an easy job but it is pivotal in supporting the short and long term strategy of Uniplaces – you will recruit across the teams from Junior Sales Agent to Head of BI, software developers and General Managers for our international teams.

What are we solving? (a few examples)

  • Issue #1 – How to attract more quality candidates that are aligned with the profile we are looking for, with the least possible financial cost and human effort?
  • Issue #2 – How do we develop an accurate and up to date way of communicating recruitment status to stakeholders?
  • Issue #3 – How can we optimize the overall process in order to ensure quality of candidates in a useful time frame for the business needs?

How do we operate?

People & Culture is a team of 4. You will be reporting to the Head of People & Culture, working alongside one talent acquisition specialist, one culture & engagement specialist and one people ops specialist. You will have weekly one on one’s with your manager, a weekly team meeting and a weekly brainstorming session. We are very professional in the way we deal with people’s requests but like to keep everything informal and as simple as possible.

And you are?

You went to university and studied business, psychology, sociology or any other subject. You love people and love long conversations – not those superficial ones but the ones where you really feel you can learn from. You started your career in business development or human resources and you have since been developing and specializing in recruitment as a consultant or an in-house recruiter. You have a massive number of linkedin connections and know the tool inside out – you also have extensive experience using ATS as an admin (we use Greenhouse by the way!). In your experience you developed a cost efficient mindset in negotiating with providers and managing budgets and headcount plans.

How’s it like to work at Uniplaces?

Average age is 27 and we have 16 different nationalities. A weekly open Q&A session with the founders to discuss new projects and key results. Glass windowed meeting rooms, a ping pong table, fresh fruit every week and pizza lunch every once in awhile. All of this is cool but what’s really cool is the informality and how we are passionate about the company we work in and the objectives we have – As a Uniplacer you are expected to shout out and speak up with ideas to help take the company forward.
