General Purpose

Plans and performs technical activities to service the customer and brings expertise to customer site on need basis.

Main Responsibility Area

Plans and executes technical tasks requiring specialist skills in own professional area. Works independently with the responsibility for solving customer request cases and reporting according to processes. Identifies and solves technical problems. Shares knowledge in own professional area. May support areas by participating in emergency and 24/7 duty.

Position Description

Main responsibility is software upgrade/update, including planning and coordination of upgrade/update activities, knowledge re-use management and working close with Care, CO and MBB organizations.
Scope of the work to be performed is mainly:

  • Executes SW upgrade/update activities according to product-specific SW upgrade/update procedures and best practices
  • Provides workaround or definitive solutions to issues found during/after SW upgrade/update activities
  • Reviews and creates specific MOPs, including any required technical analysis
  • May lead/coordinate the upgrade/update activities with other team members, when required
  • Reports the progress throughout the process
  • Ensures reporting on SW upgrade/update execution and related quality
  • Acts as main point of contact for customer (internal and external) during SW upgrade/update execution
  • Supports implementation of preventive proposals
  • Supports Care Program Manager with SW upgrade/update planning and communication

Knowledge Developer role:

  • Actively contributes and shares knowledge and is a recognized contributor in his/her specialty area.

Local customer support:

  • Installation and/or commissioning and/or integration activities.
  • On-line SW Change Service

Position Requirements

  • Specific system architecture
  • System interfaces & protocols
  • Trace & log file analysis tools
  • Installation & commissioning
  • Deep knowledge of Radio networks and functionality of Radio Controllers and Base Stations (2G, 3G and LTE)
  • Familiar with GPRS and 3G networks and interfaces
  • Familiar with NetAct applications
  • IP networks knowledge
  • Good troubleshooting skills
